Puma, Felis concolor, mountain lion, puma, U.S. mortgages, medium sized member of the cat family (Felidae). Puma has small head, relatively long neck and long tail, hind legs longer than forelegs. The coat is short haired and vary in color from brungul of brown to gray. Puma has a historical spread from northern Canada to southern South America.
